Make-up lesson Policy

Dear Student / Parent:

I always encourage the highest level of commitment, consistency, and timeliness to most greatly benefit my students in the growth and development of their language learning. But I understand that there are circumstances where missing a lesson is inevitable.

I have created a Make-Up Lesson Policy to be as fair as possible, considering both my students’ time and the instructors’ preparation, availability, and time.

Since we can’t 100% guarantee make-up lessons for individual and group lessons, due to the number of students, we offer this policy that is as equitable as possible for both parties.

Please be on time for your virtual or in-person session.*

Absences/Sick days (Individual Lessons)

Make-up lessons will be given, based on the number of paid lessons, at no additional charge. There are no refunds for missed lessons.

Please call/email/text at least 24 hours before class time to let us know if you / your child will not be attending the lesson.

If you cancel a lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged for that lesson and make-up will not be given.

1-9 paid classes: No make-up lesson

10-19 paid classes: 1 make-up lesson

20-35+ paid classes: 2 make-up lessons

Absences/Sick days (Group Lessons)

Make-up lessons will NOT be given unless the cancelation is for the entire group -no more than 2 make-up lessons per 21 lessons and more-.

We would try to find an available spot for a make-up session in the same week or in a different week if applicable.

Please call/email/text at least 24 hours before class time to let us know if you or your child will not be attending the lesson.

Lesson Cancellation

There may be rare occasions when we cannot find a substitute for a last-minute situation or extreme weather causes us to cancel the class. If we know in advance, we will at least give you 24 hours’ notice. If it is a last-minute decision, we will call and email and schedule a make-up lesson. No refunds will be given.

An Instructor/Student Being Late*

  • Online Instructors will wait for 5 minutes for a student and remind the student via text or email. If the student doesn’t reply, the instructor will wait for an additional 10 minutes. If the student doesn’t show up, the lesson is considered over, and the instructor will leave the session. The student will be charged for the lesson with no rescheduling option.

  • In-person instructors are expected to be in the session on time or 5 minutes earlier. If the instructor is not on time, you will receive a call or message, and the lesson will be conducted once the instructor arrives, or it will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

Holiday Classes

If your class falls during a holiday, we may be able to offer lessons if our instructors have available spots.

Expire/Transfer Lessons

If you have remaining sessions in your package and have not scheduled them, please be aware that they expire 2 months after your last session. If you don't want to lose them, you can transfer your remaining sessions to another person at any time. However, the person receiving the sessions must contact us within 2 months to schedule the transferred lessons. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for unused sessions, so they will be lost if not scheduled or transferred.

*Restrictions apply according to the level of the new student.
